Under the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, responsible persons for multi-occupied residential buildings above 11 metres must carry out quarterly checks of communal fire doors and annual "best endeavour" checks of flat entrance doors.

Recent legislative update
Following the Building Safety Act 2022, responsible persons must now record their completed fire door checks in full — including the identity and organisation of the individual carrying out the inspection.
